Photo of the food and gifts that we collected for the mother and 8 year old boy that the club "adopted" for the holidays. In addition to the items you can see, there was a collection of gift cards from Hannaford, Books A Million, and Wal Mart.
The ladies at the Gorham Town Clerk's office were beside themselves with the generosity of our small club, and the amount of great things we put together in a short time.
Great job WGRGC, and Merry Christmas!

Great turnout for the Turkey Shoot. Over two dozen Turkeys and Pork Loin were won. Everybody had a great time. A runoff was required to break a tie in youth shoot.

Social meeting update:
Apr 24th is our next Social Meeting. Pot luck meal provided. Speaker to be announced.
Last social meeting we hosted a Sportsman's Forum. Judy Camuso, the newly appointed Commissioner of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife was guest speaker.
Dinner was at 6:30 PM, followed by your opportunity to discuss the future of sporting traditions in Maine. Our own Bob Chapin provided a list of likely questions. We had great attendance for the event. Guest had an opportunity to speak with the director of an agency responsible for preserving and protecting Maine's fisheries and wildlife resources.
A big thanks go to Gene for a great spaghetti meal.
Judy Camuso's appointment was met with approval of SAM and Maine sportsmen & women given her excellent track record serving as the Director of IF&W since 2013.
We have joined the CMP, Civil Marksmanship Program. M-1 Garands may be shipped directly to your house, as I understand it. Here is an article about the 1911 pistols we discussed at the December meeting about joining the CMP. We have access through our new affiliation for Service Pistols. Web link to CMP

NRA Range Safety Officer Course
Gene's friend Corey Gray is able to teach an NRA Range Safety Officer Course at the club and needs 30 days notice so he can advertise. The current proposed dates are May 4 & 5 and there is a 5 person minimum. The cost is $120, $50 of which needs to be paid in advance for class materials. An additional $17 gets you the NRA RSO T-shirt and patch. This is a great deal for anyone who wants the RSO cert.
