Maine Pheasant Program

Releasing the Pheasants.
The Club met with Scott Lindsay, with Inland Fisheries at Cabella’s, with members, Bob Chapin, John Bernard, Vincent Andronaco, Bob Weise and Kevin King at 9:00 AM on Sunday for the second Pheasant Release.  The last Pheasant Release is this Sunday, October 18th.  We had a great time.  This would be an excellent opportunity if you have children or grandchildren in the 8 to 16 year old range.     We were greeted at the last farm by a bare back rider curious about the pheasants.  Good Times.

The Club is the lead club in the Maine Pheasant Program.  The clubs which participate in this program release over 2,000 adult pheasants each year for hunters in York and Cumberland Counties.
Club members volunteer their time and effort to accept the birds from the breeders and transport them to the various release sites.  Birds are released several times throughout the upland bird hunting season.
Release site locations are available from the Gray Office of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.  You can use the link below to find a site you wish to hunt.
